IoT based Home Alert System using Wi-Fi

We are living in an hi-tech era where crime is increasing day by day. Due to increase in numbers of threats and intrusions in society, everyone needs a advance level security system which can keep their belongings secure and at the same time we also want to protect our home assets from any kind of hazard. Knowing our home is protected provides peace of mind when we are away.  The major role of the paper is to design home security system based on wireless sensor network using Wi-Fi.

Considering the advantages of Wi-Fi an advanced automation system was developed to control the appliances in the house. It is a wireless technology that uses radio frequency to transmit data through the air. Wi-Fi has initial speeds of 1mbps to 2mbps.Wi-Fi transmits data in the frequency band of 2.4 GHz. It implements the concept of frequency division multiplexing technology. Range of Wi-Fi technology is 40-300 feet. If any security intrusion takes place alert is sent to Android Device over Wi-Fi using Microcontroller.

In this we are using PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor) to sense person movement. The Atmega328 microcontroller is used to process data. The ESP8266 wi-fi module is used to send data to remote android phone or web server.
